Ivy’s ROM

Ivy engaged my makeup and hair services for her ROM last year. She was referred by my other bride Singyee. Thank God for these 2 brides because they are so pretty! Embarrass to say this but pretty brides do help my portfolio a lot. Really thankful for their trust! One of them is already a mom and another one is also a mom-to-be! So happy for both of them!

Her ROM was held at Dempsey COMO and it was my first time at that restaurant. I’ve never even been there for a meal. Great place to hold a small solemnisation ceremony with your loved ones.

We went for more smokey makeup which Ivy requested and a textured, tousled updo decorated with florals. Her lovely dress is from amazing Taobao. Can you tell? The quality looks good!

She very kindly shared these 2 photos with me, taken by Bryan from Antelope Studios.

Tiffany & Yaoyi’s PWS

Totally in love with this set of photos from Keloysius. This was our 2nd time working together and 1st time I met him briefly which he was in the car and me walking towards my cab. Haha. Tiffany’s bouquet was by Whimsical Blooms.

Tiffany engaged me for her PWS and also makeup and hair for her mom and sis on her AD. She has been one of my greatest supporter, often sharing with other brides about me on the budget brides fb group, and also liking and telling me how good my work are when I post them on my IG. My passion is fueled because of such lovely brides. Thank God for sending such beautiful people my way.

Kind words from the bride, Tiffany.
Xin Er needs no introduction as she’s been highly recommended by brides-to-be. I’ve loved her works just by seeing her portfolio and was so looking forward to engage her.

She is very detailed and takes great pride in her work. She did such a great job in covering my dark eye circles and to ensure that my double eyelids are well defined. I love how she doesn’t rush just to get the job done quickly but really ensure each step is done properly. Can’t wait to engage her again!

My hair is relatively short but yet she managed to do a classy low chignon for my PWS and arranged the loose flowers so nicely on my hair. So grateful to have her!

My makeup started at 4am and she just returned from a trip and landed at 2am. Very thankful that she still decided to take up my job request. Despite the fatigue, she was still very bubbly and I had an enjoyable conversation with her during the session.

Sarah and Ben’s AD

Sarah contacted me back in Feb this year and booked my services within 4 days! She’s actually church friends with a few of my brides. Her husband, Ben, actually saw their friends on my IG feed and got Sarah to find me. The most heart warming thing she told me during the trial was that if their friends think I’m good enough for them, I’m also good enough for her. Thanks for trusting your friends’ choice and also trusting me for your big day!

The top 2 photos were taken by me and also edited by me. Sarah has very healthy, thick and black hair so it’s not easy to see the texture on the hairstyle I created. Anyway, I’m also not one for messy hairstyles on black coloured hair because it just looks messy with no dimension. The hair photo above was edited under the guidance of Clara from The Perfect Statement 🙂

The photographer they engaged is Nathaniel from A Little Black Box. They’re from the same church so he knows the couple very well. From their interaction when he first stepped into the room, I can already tell Sarah was very comfortable in front of him.
He just casually sat down and chat with her which I think was really nice because brides can become jittery when people start arriving at their place. Usually, when it’s just me and the bride, it’s all chill and peaceful but once the PG arrives, it means it’s almost time the bridal party arrives as well. So, hiring a photographer who can calm your nerves and one whom you feel comfortable around is very important!

I was there when the unveiling happened and Ben was so funny. He actually asked if he should be the one unveiling Sarah. Everyone laughed at his question. Nathaniel’s reply was also quite epic, he cheekily replied if he should be the one doing it then. Hahaha. Really love such raw moments in the morning and you only get to witness this if you’re privileged enough to be part of the bridal party.

Sarah’s beautiful gown is from The Gown Connoisseur and I’m also very happy to announce that TGC is Lush Looks’ preferred partner now so all TGC brides get a little discount when you show me your invoice and if you confirm me first, you also get a token discount from TGC. Take note that you only get discount from one side.

Thanks Sarah and Ben for sharing these photos with me 🙂 It’s greatly appreciated. It feels like I went through their wedding with them. In fact, every weekend feels like I’m going through my own wedding over and over again. The fun, the excitement, the jitters, the anticipation, the tears are all part of my job and I feel so honoured to be able to go through these with my lovely brides. Thanks for having me!

Eva’s Prewedding Shoot

A prewedding shoot package that I ran and am still running with The Perfect Statement and 12th Bloom took place in August. I met up with Eva at one of the meeting rooms in SMU to do her makeup and hair because she will be taking photos around the area. Clara, PG from TPS, joined us shortly after and took so many nice prep shots for me. First time having shots taken for PWS prep.

The usual price for PWS and AD one look is the same for me because it takes the same amount of effort and time for me to complete the full look. So, to be honest, I have no idea why some makeup artists charge lower for PWS. It puzzles me. Really.

Anyway, I really love the whole set of photos. I think Clara did a really good job! She really put in extra effort editing this set of photos.

I did not follow through the shoot as it wasn’t part of the package. However, if brides want, it can be arranged with additional top up.

I think the combination of the music, the photos, the speed of the transition made this slideshow so good. Love it. I teared when I watched it for the first time. haha. Too emotional or the video too good?

Celeste’s AD

Hello my dayrebride! I am grateful to have utilised dayre so much not only to plan my wedding, check out taobao hauls, get ideas when renovating my new place, but also got to meet so many beautiful brides from this wonderful platform. It’s sad to see how this platform has changed and so many people have left.

Celeste found me on dayre under the #dayrebrides. I am a strong supporter of this particular hash tag because of what I do now. I also contributed a lot while I planned for my own wedding.

Another fuss free bride, they had no gate crash, everything started and ended at CHIJMES. I met her early in the morning when she was still unpacking her stuff in the bridal room. Her mom was also there to be with her. Shortly after, Jaclyn, the mom’s mua also arrived.

Always grateful to have such prep shots taken while I work. These are captured by Caline. I really love the photos and her way of editing. Her flowers are of O’hara Weddings and gown from Wedding Crafters.

I really love how Caline captured the details of the makeup and hairstyle I did for Celeste. I want to hug her for these photos! So pretty!

We went for an updo for her 1st march in after the solemnisation ceremony. Keeping everything clean and classy for this look. This gown is also from Wedding Crafters. Such beauty.

Totally in love with the whole set of wedding photos. Celeste shared her whole facebook album with me and told me to just take anything I want. Awww… I’m always super touched by such gestures! Thank you!
